The Happy Days Stay Retreat

An experimental short film exploring the ethical conundrums inherent to voluntary assisted dying in the case of Alzheimer’s patients. Think Roy Andersson meets Todd Haynes.

I wrote and directed this film, and I was also the production designer and cinematographer. I shot it on a Blackmagic Ursa Mini. The whole narrative takes place in one room, giving me a space to explore diverse visuals within highly limited parameters.

I’ve been working on a new edit of the film using some experimental techniques and intend to submit it to festivals upon completion. I’ve included a small teaser below (password hdsr).

Recovidry
2020

A series of remote-viewing live music performances recorded at the Newtown Town Hall Hotel and funded by the Inner West Council. I shot and edited the intro on a Canon 5d Mark II and a shoulder rig I built myself out of PVC piping and old tripod parts.

I also produced the reactive audio animation and logo, which you can read more about in the motion graphics section of this portfolio.
